JANUARY 2015

We begin 2015 with a name change. Over 34 monthly editions of “The Mountainy Kennedys” our world-wide readership has grown to cover not only the descendents of those Kennedys who went into the mountains of Tipperary after the Cromwellian dispossessions of 1652, but also the descendants of many other Kennedys. Some of these Kennedys remained on the plains of North Tipperary while others had moved from the traditional Kennedy homelands long before Cromwell.

All descendants of Irish Kennedys and other interested people are very welcome to join the mailing list. We hope to make the mailing list very interesting and informative during 2015. If you have contributions that you would like to share they will be most welcome.

    I am awaiting my DNA results. Do you think there's a chance that this would tell me which clan I am a descendant of? I'm finding it difficult getting at records from the mid 1800's, let alone going back to the 1600's!
